Silver sand resort

Not a bad place! The room is comparitively very clean and big, although a little expensive at 1200Bhat per night - you get what you pay for around here! Don't skimp and save on a fan room here as they are much smaller and smell, unlike the air-con rooms. We moved out of the terrible Jeb's Place down the road It's not a place to stay with a family, but for couples and backpackers it's really fun. Bungalows are nothing special, except for great location on the beach. Restaurant is really good, bbq, etc, movies til late. They have a beach bar which is happening late into the evening. Good value for the money, about 1000 baht for a.c. room... While living in Bangkok for the past six months, I have been to Koh Samet Island twice. On my first trip, I did not stay at Silver Sand Beach Resort and Bungalow but as I walked down the beach, I knew I wanted to. So, on the second trip we stayed at the Silver Sands. The bungalows were newly constructed Incredibly rude, unhelpful, unfriendly and most arrogant staff I've ever met. Avoid this place!! They don't greet you, they don't thank you and forget about the smiles. Having travelled a lot I must say I've never been this badly treated as a guest at a hotel. It's cheap but not even worth the few bahts you pay for the dirty

Tubtim Resort Koh Samet
We stayed at the Tubtim Resort a couple of weeks ago. We loved Ko Samet itself but did learn that we would stay somewhere else. We stayed in a bungalow that was far away from the beach. It had two (hard) beds, a toilet and a cold water shower.

Hat Sai Kaew Beach
Hat Sai Kaew or Diamond Beach is the longest and one of the most popular beaches on Ko Samet. It is located in the north-east and it is about 780 meters long. This is the beach you should choose if you do not want that many people and activities around you, but at the same time live next to a almost paradise-like beach. The sand is almost snow-white and the water is invitingly green-blue. You will find a number of cozy restaurants and bars here too, as well as good accommodation. Along the beach you find many bungalows and hotel rooms for rent. Here you also find many different activities if you don't only want to sunbath. A few examples: windsurfing, jet ski, snorkeling, ride a bananboat and later in the evening, have a cocktail or long drink on the beach.

Koh Samet Sai Kaew Beach Resort
Starting more than 1.5 months ago when I booked Sai Kaew Beach resort as a get away trip with my fiance, I checked through different websites/comments saying that it is lovely. Then, I booked "Sai Kaew Beach Relaxation" package - it included two night accommodation in DELUXE COTTAGE, transfer from/to Rayong to the resort, national park fee, 1 set dinner This was our fourth visit and while Sai Kaew Beach Resort still has the same friendly cheerful and helpful staff, the management needs to catch up with what's going on around them. They're halfway through a development, and it's not clear how that's going to work out. prices used to be reasonable but it has gone up way too high. yes the style is nice and cool, we like that, but there are many other places to stay now. also they have acquired a few adjacent places so where you used to be able to get a place fairly close to the beach, Although the hotel is is a lovely position on a great beach, we would probably not choose to stay here again as we thought it was expensive for what it was. It is becoming a little dated although they are building a new wing which looks very nice. We visited Sai Kaew Beach Resort over Christmas 2008 and had a VERY nice time. THere were four of us: me, wife and six-year-old twins. The resort It's big, huge in fact, and with a variety of accommodation at different prices. We were staying in 2-bedroom bungalow, kind of top-range for the resort. we had spent , two nights , and i think it was enough . Regardings the rate ( superior for 95 $ ) , room was very simply and impersonnal , we expected to discover something better, and we felt very dissapionted , because we living in thailand , and usually for this price you can found a good place The end of our two week holiday with Explore was three days at Ko Samet, which rounded off an amazingly varied and at times quite demanding trip. The resort is reasonably well equipped (though the pool is hardly worth visiting, especially given the very close proximity of a warm ocean) and the chalets are clean and adequately furnished. The air-con This is one of the best resorts on the island..so keep it between us! When booking be clear on where you room will be. The resort has a restaurant and its older rooms (called superior i think) on the beach front and the newer (and excellent ) cottages are off the beach. I stayed at here with friends for 2 nights in September 08. We booked as a group, and on arrival at the resort had our fair share of problems checking in. At first the reception staff didn't appear to be very helpful but eventually they sorted us out and everyone was happy. I have been here twice with my girlfriend and i think its a wonderful place, staff were very friendly, the bungalows were really nice, breakfast was good and a beautiful beach, the sea was nice and warm, the weather was fabulous, for us it was quiet peaceful and romantic and i will be going again next year

Koh Samed-Moonban talay resort
We spent 1 amazing week here on honeymoon. The resort is not your 5 star, luxury resort with Gucci clad guests, rather it is a simple and stylish place to really relax and get away from it all. The beach hut accommodation was lovely, big beds, tiles bathroom, outdoor (private) shower and a verandah that opens onto to the beach We stayed at the resort over the new year period and had a truly relaxing and memorable time. Koh Samet is a very calm island in comparison to some others in Thailand and is very popular with Thai people as well as tourists. We found the resort location to be perfect. This place is soooo overpriced compared to the other (read BETTER) resorts on the island. I think perfect name for this hotel is "Sleepy" resort. You may well be the only guest in the hotel, but service is still struggling. Food is absolutely appalling, small portions and extra price. This is definitely the place to stay if you want a private & quiet relaxing stay. Apart from another couple, we were the only people there....this meant the pool & the private beach is all yours! Location: Is is located away from the busy town but only a few minutes ride on a motorbike to the nearby Sai Keew town wir sind am 24.12.2006 um 14.00 angekommen. die enttäuschung war sehr gross, vermodertes zimmer, dreck, moskitos, strandflöhe. kein safe.
